When you try to take everything in your hands that involves sharks, you can assume all the bad things that can happen to you.
Well, it this woman from Perth, Australia learned it the difficult way when she tried to hand feed a group of Tawney Nurse Sharks.
She was holidaying in the remote Dugong Bay in the north of Western Australia when a Nurse Shark grabbed her finger and dragged her underwater.
She recalls that it felt like the shark was shredding off her bone. However, Tawney Nurse sharks are considered to be the calmest of all shark species but they do possess rows of razor-sharp teeth.

Melissa Brunning, the victim, said that all she could think was about her finger and she wasn’t able to bring herself to check. It was a devastating moment and if she had seen her finger severed, she definitely would have gone into shock.
The people on the boat who were with her saw the wound and were able to calm her down. Fortunately, when her finger was rescued, it was still attached and Melissa decided not to visit the ER as it would heal on its own.
However, when she arrived home, her finger was brutally infected to an extent that she underwent a surgery. The x-ray showed her bone had been fractured.
She has learned her lesson, she says that she was wrong trying to feed the sharks with her bare hands and she advises others not to try the same.
