The police are on the hunt for the shooter who opened fire at Burger King after getting angry by the long wait time at the drive-thru window.
The incident took place at the Winchester Road Burger King store in Memphis, Tennessee, where a female customer got into a verbal fight with the workers after getting annoyed by the long wait time last Tuesday.
After retrieving a handgun from her vehicle, the unidentified woman pointed the firearm at the employees and started shooting through the drive-thru window.
Fortunately, all of the Burger King workers managed to escape through the back door and none of them got injured by the several bullets that were fired.
“Upon arriving on the scene, officers were advised that a female customer got angry regarding the wait time to be served at the drive-thru window,” the police revealed in a statement.
“The female got out of the front passenger seat of a mid-sized, four-door, gray sedan and approached the drive-thru window. A verbal altercation ensued between the female patron and the workers.”
As of this writing, the suspect is still on the run and the investigation is ongoing. The police have urged people with information about the suspect to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH and offered cash rewards of up to $1,000.
“Video surveillance shows the suspect retrieve a black handgun from the vehicle, extend her upper body through the drive-thru window, and fire several shots at the Burger King workers,” the police statement adds.
“The workers fled from the gunfire through the rear door of the business and were unharmed. The suspect was accompanied by a male who was the driver of the gray sedan.”
Following the shocking shooting, Burger King spoke out to FOX13 to condemn the customer’s actions saying they “do not tolerate or condone violence of any kind at our restaurants because the safety of our team members and guests is our top priority.”
