How much do you love your parents? You cannot answer that, right? Well, this four-year-old boy is signing the entire TV shows for both of his parents who are deaf.
The boy, Gabriel Toseland has been signing to his parents since he was 4 months old. He was filmed sitting at the side of the TV in the living room, listening and explaining to his mother and father about what was happening.
Abigail Britton, Gabriel’s mother, filmed her little son as she was sitting near to her partner Conor. Both of them utilize British sign language and felt that it was necessary for their son to learn the language despite he is able to hear.
The twenty-six-year-old Abigail said that Gabriel began learning to signal with the baby sign, explaining things like nappy, milk, and bath. With time, he picked up more and more of the sign language and has now become very natural.
They said that they felt it was necessary to teach Gabriel so that he could communicate with his parents without any communication barrier or frustration.
They added that they want Gabriel to be able to utilize both languages since he is a CODA or child of deaf adults.
Abigail revealed that she has been teaching her son the sign language by speaking as she signs so that it is easier for him to pick up. For instance, she would sign water before giving it to Gabriel. She also told that Gabriel is a fast learner.
Gabriel always makes sure to make his mum aware if there someone at the door. He helps his mother during announcements stating that a store is closing or if a tram is ready to leave.
