Simba the Lion was successfully rescued by Lord Ashcroft and his undercover team of professionals despite the fact that the animal was bred to become a trophy for callous hunters.

As Mr. Ashcroft revealed in his post for The Mail, it took him and the team of former Special Forces a lot of effort to save the king of the jungle from the hands of breeders who are oriented by greed.

Fortunately, the team traveled to South Africa in time to free Simba and relocate him to a secret hideout where he is set to spend the remainder of his life in peace.

According to Lord Ashcroft, Simba appeared to be left “traumatized” following the events revolving around his previous captivity. Nevertheless, the rescuers remain optimistic that the lion will have at least another decade to live like he deserves to.

“He [Simba] is a real gentleman. Even in the few weeks he has been with us, there has been a massive difference in his behavior,” one of Simba’s new carers told Lord Ashcroft according to The Mail post.

“When he arrived, he was hiding and growling. Now, little by little, he is more confident and allows us to be within 30 feet of him. The great thing is that lions forgive and dare to trust again, and to love unconditionally. This is where humans can learn from animals.”

The anonymous carer also lashed out at the lion farming industry and the gruesome trophy hunting associated with it by saying:

“Lion farming, on the other hand, touches the darkest side of humanity: it is pure ego, pure money, pure greed.”

Despite being neglected in the past, Simba now has a bright future ahead as Lord Ashcroft assured that he’s paid off the animal’s medical bills and “made a substantial donation” to ensure that the lion will be taken care of in the future.
