Hollywood actor and Disney star Josh Gad has been getting superstars together for online chitchats during the lockdown.

Of course, his ‘Reunited Apart’ series would not be complete without some of the cast from one of the biggest movie trilogies of all time.

Josh got Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Orlando Bloom and Sean Astin together for a video call, and ended it with the appearance of the incredible Sir Ian McKellen!

The four-minute video was filled with jokes but the bone-chilling and most nostalgic part comes when Gandalf appeared on the screen. Tissues, please!

Sir Ian and Elijah then performed a short scene from The Fellowship of the Ring.

“I wish the ring had never come to me, I wish none of this had happened,” Frodo said.

Gandalf then replied with: “So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide, All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you.”

The video quickly went viral on YouTube and has been viewed more than 900K times within 24 hours.

One YouTube user commented: “I’m not even going to lie, when Ian McKellen showed up I started crying. I love The Lord of the Rings so much. It shaped my entire childhood and my life and I’m so happy that they’re doing this.”

Another wrote: “The books shaped my adolescence and the movies were everything to me in my 20s. I’ve watched this five times and still tear up when Ian starts speaking. I’m so excited for this!!!”

A third added: “This brought me to tears. All throughout my life, in times of sadness, LOTR brought me such joy and hope. That is one of the many reasons why it’s so close to my heart. And now, I see this. And the fact that it’s airing ON MY BIRTHDAY.”
