The U.
S. President, Donald Trump, started to pointedly ignore the U.K.’s Ambassador to the U.S., Sir Kim Darroch, after the latter’s rude comments about Trump’s Administration came out. The Ambassador resigned on Wednesday.
Boris Johnson, the United Kingdom’s next likely Prime Minister, refused to say anything during a televised debate on whether he would retain Darroch on Tuesday.
Darroch referred to the disputes in the White House as ‘knife-fights’ and said that Trump could be indebted to Russians.
He added that his Administration would become substantially more normal; less unpredictable; less faction-riven; less dysfunctional; less diplomatically clumsy and inept.
Commenting on how the U.S. dealt with Iran, Darroch said that the White House’s policy was chaotic, incoherent and that the policy will not become more coherent any soon and called it a divided Administration.
Following this, Trump took to Twitter on Monday and wrote that he had been very critical about the way PM Theresa May and the U.K. handled Brexit and called it a mess. He further wrote that he told May how it should be done but May did not comply.
Talking about Darroch, he wrote that he did know the Ambassador but knew he isn’t well liked or well thought in the U.S. and that they would not deal with him any further.
On Tuesday, Trump again tweeted calling the Ambassador ‘wacky’ and ‘a stupid guy’, ‘a pompous fool’ and advised that instead of being upset by his criticism, Darroch should talk to May and his country about the failed Brexit negotiation.
He also declared that the U.S. has the best military and Economy in the world.
Nigel Farage, Brexit party leader, commented that it was the right time and decision put in a non-Remainer who wanted a trade deal with the U.S. on Darroch’s resignation.
