It was back in the 18th century that women first became a part of the forces as Nurse Corps officially. Before that, there were women in the army but in disguise.

It is a proud moment for both, 53 years old Major General Maria Barrett, and 5 years old Brigadier General Paula Lodi, as well as the US Army and their families.

The sisters said “This is a very proud moment for us. We never had a plan to get on the position we are on today but we cannot be more proud of what we have been blessed and what we have achieved. This is the highest level of respect we have had in our lives.
