An amateur chef has been praised by internet users after sharing an easy slow cooker fried rice recipe.
She made the delicious dish after putting 11 ingredients in the slow cooker on high for an hour and thirty minutes.
Shared on the Slow Cooker Recipe and Tips Facebook page, the recipe quickly went viral, with many Facebook users saying it tastes superb!
The home cook wrote: “I must admit I was a little cautious to try fried rice in the slow cooker as my stove top fried rice is famous but wowsers.”
She said cooking fried rice using a slow cooker is “actually lighter and fluffier.”
To make fried rice in a slow cooker, you’ll need 2 cups of white rice, 3 cups chicken stock or beef stock, 4 tablespoons of peanut oil, 4 cloves garlic, 2 large brown onion, 1 cup of frozen veggies, handful chopped almonds, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, and ½ cup of chopped bacon.
To start, put stock in your slow cooker and set it to high. Heat oil and raw rice in a pan until golden brown, then add two gets and vegetables. Stir for a minute before adding to slow cooker. Mix it in with stock.
Then, cook chopped bacon in a fry pan until crispy before adding it to slow cooker. Fry onions in a pan until golden brown, add garlic and almonds, fish sauce, say sauce and any other ingredients you want to add to slow cooker.
Let it cook on high for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
