Crossing busy roads has never been easy and plenty of people are confused by when they should or shouldn’t cross the street to stay safe.
While the same thing definitely applies to animals as well, the cat in this video proves that everyone can be taught how to safely cross a road.
The smart cat was caught on camera passing a busy road in Dartford, UK. As seen in the footage, the feline patiently waits for the approaching vehicles to stop before putting its paws on the pavement.
Not only did the cat wait for the car on its side of the road to stop but it also waited for the vehicle on the opposite side of the street to halt before proceeding.
The video was posted on YouTube by Justin Scrutton who wrote: “Cat using a Zebra Crossing … Only in Dartford…”
Following the video going viral, several users praised the cat for learning how to cross the road safely for everyone involved.
“Oh, so we learned how to properly cross the street from cats!” someone wrote.
“Smarter than a lot of people,” another one suggested.
As ITV Meridian explained, Justin was on his way back home after getting his car washed up when he saw the black cat attempting to cross the street.
“I was amazed when the car on the other side of the road stopped too and the cat calmly crossed,” he expressed in an interview.
