A new TikTok video is making the rounds on social media, showing how one of the world’s most popular chocolate bars in Australia is being produced in China.
The shocking news has turned plenty of Australian consumers off, with claims on how they plan to boycott the chocolate for good.
Moreover, plenty of social media users also announced how they would no longer eat chocolate. Shockingly, Snickers is just one of the hundreds of chocolates produced by production giant Mars. However, until now, the boycott remains on Snickers as it was recently featured in the viral TikTok video, mentioned reports.
On the other hand, experts went on to reveal the status of another very popular chocolate called the Twix Bar. This is being made in Egypt, while Maltesers has its blocks being produced in China too.
The new video was recently uploaded by a user who goes by the name of Jeremy Toh, right after he made the discovery as he shopped on Sunday at Woolworths.
In the new footage, users get a glimpse of a wide array of chocolates that were repeatedly stacked upon one another on shelves at the market. This was right before the camera made its way to record a box of Snickers.
“Did you guys really know that Snickers are no longer produced in the country of Australia?” he questioned. Next, the man speaks about grabbing one bar from the box and decided to turn it over. With the camera focusing on the production, it’s clearly mentioned on the packaging that it is being made in China.
The news went viral in an instant, resulting in an immediate press release being out by a spokesperson who comes from Mars Wrigley.
This is the same house that reportedly manufactures the popular chocolate.
They claim that the company was outsourcing the product from China on a temporary basis as their facility undergoes a multi-million dollar worth of upgrade.
