When it comes to prom, men have it so easy.
They can simply toss on a tuxedo or a nice suit and they’re all ready. For girls, however, they have to find the absolute perfect dress that teachers will find “acceptable”, fits their body perfectly and doesn’t break the bank.
Women express themselves through their choice of clothing so it shouldn’t be too big of a surprise they’re given such a vast variety, but it sure can be overwhelming at times! For such an important like senior prom, it’s not usual for the choice of dress to be a bit stressful at times!
It’s a slow process that cannot be rushed and you always want to make sure you get your dress way ahead of time so you will get it. But what if you want to be even more creative with your prom dress? What if you made it yourself? We’ve seen one woman make her own wedding dress, so it’s certainly possible!
Well the young lady tried her hand at making her own, her result most certainly turned heads. A truly unique dress!

At first glance you might think this is a fancy dress composed of sequins, but if you look a bit closer you’ll see this isn’t just any kind of material. There’s something different about it..
Her dress is actually made out of soda tabs! This creative girl saw the idea in a cartoon when she was in middle school and thought the idea was so cool that she would try it out herself. That’s when she began to save up the 6,328 soda tabs required to make this truly unique dress.
She certainly didn’t need to worry about someone wearing the same dress!

She began practicing by making fun bracelets for herself and some of her friends.
However when she began to work on the dress she quickly realized making the straps on her dress was going to be a lot harder than just the bracelets. The characters on her favorite show made it seem a lot easier, but this woman was determined to make the dress a reality.
The hard work definitely paid off with this absolutely stellar dress. The dress weighed 4 lbs which doesn’t seem like much but when she was dancing all night long, it probably felt pretty heavy at the end. She also did struggle finding a way to sit comfortably in the dress. A small price to pay for such an incredible dress.
The dress was so beautiful that it attracted the attention of a professional photographer at the prom dance. He was so impressed by this girl’s dress that he just needed to take a photograph of it to show his daughter.
That wasn’t the only person blown away by the incredible dress. After the prom dance this young innovator had three interviews! Her local newspaper, the newspaper from a nearby town and even a radio station all the way from Colombia was interested!

Amazing how a dress idea from a cartoon and some creative thinking was able to attract so much attention. Her dress is truly unique and a standout among the crowds at any prom. She will certainly never forget her prom!
