Sometimes, we learn so many good things through social media.
And once again, we weren’t disappointed by this woman’s brilliant idea. Taking to the Facebook group DIY on a Budget Official, she shared the extraordinary before and after the results of her handiwork.
The before photo shows the oxblood Chesterfield sofa that needs a serious need of some repairment or a replacement. There are patches of leather missing from the cushions and much of the fabric missing.
But when she applied paint for the “first time” the sofa looked as good as new.
Captioning her post she wrote: “First time trying this and so pleased how it turned out!!
“I loved the original color but it didn’t go with the color scheme in our new place and it needed sorting out anyway due to wear and tear.”
She revealed that she had spent just £30($40) on the entire piece having nabbed the furniture for free on Facebook.
She spent money on the grey leather paint and on the leather paint sealer, both purchased on eBay.
Group members were impressed with her post and it received almost 8,000 likes and hundreds of comments from those praising her handiwork.
Commenting on the post one wrote: “Whoa, totally brought it to life! ? looks amazing!”
Agreeing a second said: “Wow didn’t even know you could do that.”
“Well done that looks amazing,” said a third, with a fourth adding “What a great job you’ve made of it, love it.”
One person wrote: ‘Wow. Brilliant job. That has got to be the best DIY/restoration I have ever seen.’
It is a great page, where people share their skills and inspire others too.
