Detectives require a high level of observational skills and deductive reasoning – we see it in classic Sherlock stories and in modern FBI TV shows.

There is one person in the room that is guilty of the crime. So… who did it?

 

Tests like this are a great way to challenge our observational skills. On a daily basis we observe our surroundings – from the weather to traffic. But can we possible take in more information?

 

If we challenge ourselves in the right way, we can begin to observe minor details like a person’s behavior, actions, facial expressions, and body language. We might even observe how someone is interacting with their surroundings.

Person 4 has a tense, malicious expression on his face. He is sat near the bathroom. Take an even closer look at you’ll see that his knife is missing. His shirt is ripped at the bottom, and a piece of his shirt is on the victim. He even has a scratch on his neck!
