An angry son slammed ‘selfish’ Americans in his father’s obituary after the 81-year-old veterinarian passed away from Covid-19.
As Courtney Farr revealed, his 81-year-old veterinarian father, Dr. Marvin James Farr, died all alone while in isolation at a Kansas nursing home.
In the dedicated man’s brutally honest obituary, the son revealed how his father’s “final days were harder, scarier and lonelier than necessary” while fellow Americans continue to refuse to wear face masks to protect people around them.
“Marvin was preceded in death by more than 260,000 Americans infected with COVID-19. He died in a room not his own, being cared for by people dressed in confusing and frightening ways,” Courtney wrote.
“His final days were harder, scarier and lonelier than necessary. He was not surrounded by friends and family.
“He was born into an America recovering from the Great Depression and about to face World War II, times of loss and sacrifice difficult for most of us to imagine. Americans would be asked to ration essential supplies and send their children around the world to fight and die in wars of unfathomable destruction.
“He died in a world where many of his fellow Americans refuse to wear a piece of cloth on their face to protect one another.”
As the upset son added, he feels that “the science that guided” his father throughout his career “has been disparaged and abandoned” by people whom the doctor helped throughout his life.
After the angry obituary appeared on Price & Sons Funeral Homes, the son’s message quickly went viral on social media where many users applauded him for speaking out during his time of grieving.
Courtney also doubled down on his comments in a Facebook post after some people accused him of turning his dad’s obituary into a political statement.
“Well, his death was political, He died in isolation with an infectious disease that is causing a national crisis. To pretend otherwise or to obfuscate is also a political decision,” he insisted.
