John Reid from Virginia lost his 16 years old son in January 2019 who was killed in an accident.
Father of the dead son, along with his mother, Stephanie Reid, decided to donate his heart to Robert O’Connor.
After the heart transplant, parents of the dead son have received a teddy bear with his son’s heartbeat from the donor.
Stephanie Reid has shared a video in which her husband is seen opening the box containing the teddy bear as he is full of sorrow for the death of his son.
Dakota was driving with a driver when the car crashed with an SUV and it took the life of the young boy.
While opening the box from Robert O’Connor, it contained a note. In it, the person who has received Dakota’s heart wishes to give the gift to the father.
Robert informed John that he had gone for his one-year check-up to detect the proper functioning of his heart.
Robert has also mentioned how well the check-up was saying that doctors have made arrangements with the echocardiogram team.
After this, the father pulls out a teddy bear from the box and continues to read the note.
The shirt of the teddy bear has the note written that John was the best father.
Holding the paw of the bear, John took it close to his ears.
At this time, he was unable to control his emotions for the loss of his son.
As he was squeezing the paw of the teddy bear, it seems like he could listen to the heartbeat of his dead son.
It was known from an interview with CBS that John was happy when he received the teddy bear and it reminded him of his dead son.
