Sophie Turner revealed that she and her friends were not a fan of Joe Jonas’ band before meeting him.
The 24-year-old actress admitted she ‘hated’ her husband before they met.
”My friends and I were not Jonas Brothers fans,” she said in an interview with Elle Magazine. The actual reason behind this hate was she blamed them for the breakup of a much-loved British musical sensation.
“There was this band in the UK called Busted. They had a hit called ‘Year 3000.’ It was amazing, and we were huge Busted fans. Then the Jonas Brothers covered the song and made it massive.”
The Game Of Thrones actress told that she was quite nervous on her first date with Joe that she came up with all her guy friends to meet him. “I expected him to show up with security and everything. I thought he would be such a d**k,” she joked.
“I brought all my guy friends to come with me to meet him because in the back of my mind I still worried that he could be a catfish — or I don’t know what,” she said. “I just wanted my guy friends with me. I had my rugby boys. I was safe.”
The couple chatted for hours later in the evening and their conversation flowed so easy. “It wasn’t small talk — it was just so easy. And soon we were, like, inseparable. I went on tour with him,” she added.
The two were first spotted together in a friend’s Halloween Instagram post in 2016. “We had a lot of mutual friends and they’d been trying to introduce us for a long time,” Turner told Harper’s Bazaar UK during a March 2019 interview. “We were following each other on Instagram and he direct messaged me one fine day, out of the blue.”
“We were all in,” Jonas told Dr. Phil in 2019. “We knew it was something unique.” Turner opened up about her relationship in a July 2017 interview with Marie Claire. “You do feel like you’re living in a fishbowl,” Turner said when asked about dating Jonas. “It’s frustrating [that] it’s the most mundane things that make the news – how boring! There are really no other headlines?”
She said the relationship was “very private,” but also said she was extremely happy. “I’m in a relationship, but it’s a very private relationship,” she told the Times of London on July 1.
“I’m happier than I’ve been in a very long time. I very much isolated myself for a while and forgot what was fun. Going out with friends, going out to eat, not really having a care. And people I’ve met recently in my life have drawn me out of that. It really helps you own those insecurities. The things I tortured myself about before, I can forget about.”
In 2019, they tied the knot during ceremonies that took place in Las Vegas and France.
