A man from South Carolina has been sentenced to 18 months in jail after he was found guilty of attacking police during a wave of protests that took place in the wake of George Floyd’s tragic death.
According to local media reports, prosecutors went about explaining how the man was guilty of hurling a burning t-shirt in the back of a moving police vehicle.
The authorities investigating the case spoke about how 26-year-old Abraham Jenkins used a fire extinguisher that was directly aimed at police officers while also throwing water bottles at one member of the police squad on duty, and also hurling a flaming hot t-shirt that had caught on fire through their vehicle’s broken window too.
And just in case that was not enough, he also went about damaging another state-owned police vehicle that was on standby during the violent riots.

Rhett went about adding how the country’s attorney’s office would always go about protecting the rights relating to the First Amendment of all South Carolinians.
However, when it came to peaceful protests that took a violent turn towards unrest and destruction, there would simply be zero compromise and the culprits would surely be brought to justice.Local media outlets have confirmed how Jenkins received his punishment for a year and a half in the state’s Federal Prison while also receiving three full years comprising of supervised release.
This was in relation to his major role during the Charleston riot that took place at the historic district during the month of May of last year.
George Floyd’s tragic death sparked great outrage and fury around the globe with many taking to the stress in the US to protest against the country’s police system as well as the brutal injustice brought against Black Americans that died due to interactions with the country’s law enforcement system.
