We’ve all heard the saying: “Dogs are a man’s best friend“.
Well, it’s true.
This story of a dog and a boy began when Dixie, a mother of two adopted children, adopted Danny. When Dixie first met Danny, doctors told her about his developmental delays. But that didn’t stop Dixie. As soon as she saw Danny’s smiles, she knew that Danny was her boy.
Although Danny was being loved and cared by his family, he was clearly lagging behind his peers. At the age of 5, Danny wasn’t potty-trained, and could only speak in fragmented sentences.
Then, everything changed when Danny met Saki, a german shepherd.

At the time, Saki was being trained to become a search dog by Danny’s next door neighbor, Dennie. When the training is over, Saki would be sent off to work at the rescue organization. But, rather than being interested in the training, Saki seemed to have something else in mind. One day, Dennie noticed Saki trying to sneak out of the backyard. This happened almost every day, until Saki finally disappeared.
It turned out that Saki was trying to go across the street to see Danny.
They instantly clicked, and played together all day long. Then, Danny’s family began to notice something strange – ever since Danny met Saki, his conditions were improving significantly.
All of a sudden, Danny was able to form complete sentences on his own. His first sentence was, “I am Saki’s daddy.” Not only that, Danny started to use the toilet, and was able to throw a ball.
After witnessing this miracle, both Saki’s trainer and Danny’s family asked the organization if Danny could keep Saki.
When the organization refused, they invited the representatives from the organization to see for themselves.
