Thousands of Brussels sprouts were spilled on the road after a trailer carrying them tipped over.
The accident happened when the truck driver slightly misjudged a roundabout at Rosyth, Fife, causing the entire payload to spill on the road.
After the little green vegetables spilled all over the place, the police issued a warning about potential delays in the locality.
South West Fife Police wrote on their Twitter: “There’s been a bit of a #BrusselSprouts accident at the roundabout at Admiralty Road, #Rosyth.
“Please avoid the area if possible. Traffic and #Christmas dinners may be affected. Apologies for any delays…”
As can be expected from the internet users, they took no time in noticing the funny side of things.
One said: “Best place for the bloody things.”
One Twitter user commented: “Was the lorry sprout of control at the time?”
Yet another said: “It’s what happens when you are forced to abandon Brussels…”
A few days back, it came to light that a whopping 77 per cent Brits wanted a Yorkshire pudding to go on the festive feast.
It was revealed in a Twitter poll started by LADbible.
Although many people raised questions about whether a Yorkie could go with any meat other than beef, it seems TV chef and guru Phil Vickery has the answer to that.
“It may go against the grain but I enjoy Yorkshire puds with any roast, so do my children,” Phil told the Telegraph not so long ago.
“To me, it’s an integral part of Sunday lunch or roasted meat at any time. Some nights we just have them with vegetables and gravy as a main meal.”
