Florence St George, a former model, and Prince Harry’s former girlfriend said that she’s lucky to not be with the Duke Of Sussex anymore.
Florence recently re-entered the spotlight as a contestant in the UK show The Great Pottery Throw Down.
Florence dated Prince Harry for only a few months in 2011, but as she explained in a recent interview, she revealed that it was more than enough time for the stress of the relationship to take its toll.
“It was the intense media scrutiny surrounding the relationship before that left her unable to cope,” Florence told The Telegraph.
She added that as soon as she had begun dating Prince Harry, her privacy ended abruptly, and the scrutiny began.
“My school friends were interrogated and there were photographers outside my front door,” Florence said, adding that there are new stories about her that appeared every day in the press.
Speaking about her brief relationship with the Duke, Florence said that she felt lucky that their relationship was cut short.
“I take my hat off to those people who can cope with that lifestyle, but I knew I couldn’t,” Florence said. “Although it was sad at the time, I feel lucky that the relationship was short-lived.”
In a previous interview with The Times last year, Florence said that it took her only six or seven days of press attention to realize that she won’t be able to handle the high-profile relationship.
“It left me with a total fear of the camera and anxiety,” she said, in which Florence also shared her experience of suffering from postnatal depression after the birth of her daughter, Iris.
Fast forward to today, she is now married to Henry St George, the vice-president of the Grand Bahama Port Authority.
Florence and Henry have two beautiful children, Iris and Jimmy.
According to Florence, she was initially hesitant on appearing in The Great Pottery Thrown Down, fearing that she would be known as Prince Harry’s ex’ but was relieved that the show treated her as ‘just another contestant’.
