A genius mom from Britain has revealed how she creatively up-cycled her daughter’s bedroom storage boxes by making use of £1 ($1.
2) Disney tote bags that she bought from Poundland.
Sharing the crafty idea on social media, the mother said she gave her daughter’s room a princess-themed look by using just four bags and a glue gun.
“Not really a bargain as such but up-cycled my daughter’s storage boxes,” the mother wrote in a post on Extreme Couponing and Bargains – a Facebook group dedicated to thrifty moms.
“Bags from Poundland. Cut them down and glue gunned them on.”
The woman complimented her post with three images, one of which showed the stylish bags before they were used and another image that showed the final product in all its glory.
And as you can guess, the result was amazing beyond words.
Featuring Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Pocahontas style boxes, the storage units looked as if they came straight out of a Disney movie.
The group members were impressed by the mom’s genius hack.
Her post went viral soon after it was shared on the group and ended up amassing more than 12,000 likes within just 24 hours.
One impressed parent commented: “That is an awesome idea and it looks amazing!”
Another said: “This is a fantastic idea and I have loads of these bags. My daughter always wants one but now doesn’t use for anything and we have storage like yours. Will try this great idea. Well done.”
Yet another wrote: “Love this idea! Might have to have a go myself.”
Many parents in the group revealed that the same idea also popped into their minds. Some of them even shared the photos of similar DIY work they did in their kids’ rooms.
Another creative mom revealed that she did the same thing by using Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs theme.
