Store Accused Of ‘Keeping Customers Hostage’ After Locking Their Doors With People Still Inside


A group of customers rallied outside a store in California and accused the managers of “keeping customers hostage” and “committing war crimes.

The incident happened in Costa Mesa, California, where a group of anti-maskers gathered outside Mother’s Market & Kitchen to protest after being denied entry to the supermarket due to not wearing face coverings.

According to the reports, the group of female protesters, who were later dubbed ‘a wild pack of Karens’, was enraged after the employees locked the front door to stop them from coming in.

With some customers still trapped inside the store at the time of the incident, the group of anti-maskers accused the store of “keeping customers hostage.”

“I don’t know what country I’m in. I thought I was in the United States!” one of the women is heard saying in the video taken by a protester. “Worse than communism!” another one suggested.

In the short footage that has been circulating the internet, the narrator explained people are not being let in or out of the store.

“They have locked their doors. They are keeping customers hostage inside their store. People are being denied access to food!” she said.

After another protester claimed that they’re also being denied water, the narrator added:

“The citizens of United States are being denied access to food right now. This is a war crime! This is crimes against humanity happening right now at Mother’s Market & Kitchen in Costa Mesa!”

The protest outside the supermarket came to its end after the police arrived at the scene. According to The Orange County Register, two females suspected of trespassing were arrested.
