Stranger Things’ next iteration is said to be the scariest of all, according to one of its actors.
Joe Keery, aka Steve Harrington, has claimed that the season 4 of the retro sci-fi drama will be more sinister than any of the previous three installments.
Joe, 28, told Total Film: “I think that this year – and I know I say this every single year – but this is definitely going to be a lot scarier than prior years, because last year was pretty dark.
“Oh man, it’s pretty amazing – the Duffer brothers have really done it again.”
The trailer for Stranger Things 4 was released earlier in 2020. It cleared the mystery surrounding Jim Hopper (David Harbour) being alive or not.
Spoiler alert, Jim is alive. He is the ‘prisoner’ that was hinted in the plot of the last season near its end.
The 45-year-old said the fourth iteration of the show will dig deep into his past.
Speaking at Liverpool Comic Con, David said: “There are these three things that we’ve established in the season that if we don’t pay off, it means that they’re bad writers and the Duffer Brothers are very good writers.”
“So I know specifically that in Season 4 we will give you a big, huge reveal about Hopper’s backstory.”
David also hinted that the series could get delayed due to the pandemic.
He said: “It was supposed to come out early next year, I think, although I don’t have authority on this.
“Now I don’t know. That’ll probably be pushed back. Hopefully we can get back to work but I don’t know what that looks like.”
In addition to Hopper, Robin Buckley is also staying in the show.
It was revealed when a Twitter user asked the show’s creators and writers, the Duffer Brothers, what their favorite Robin Buckley dialogue was.
They replied: “A season 4 line so you’re going to have to wait to get that answer.”
