A student ended up in a critical condition after downing forty shots as part of a dangerous fraternity pledge.
The “alleged hazing activity involving alcohol consumption” took place in Bowling Green, Ohio, where 20-year-old Stone Foltz attended a Pi Kappa Alpha event, Bowling Green State University confirmed in a statement.
As part of the initiation, which took place on Thursday, the boy was allegedly asked to drink the amount of alcohol equaling to 40 shots. After downing the drinks, he was left in a terrible condition and had to be rushed to the ProMedica Toledo Hospital where he was hospitalized.
According to the young man’s family, Stone remains in critical condition and has not yet passed away as his fraternity previously claimed in a statement.
“Please have respect, be considerate and passionate. Please don’t post comments on details of what you heard. Stone is still with us for the time as we go thru the process to donate his organs. Hug your children and tell them every day how much you love them,” the student’s mother wrote.
After the mother’s heartfelt message, the fraternity reworded their statement saying the incident occurred at an off-campus event.
“A student and unreported new member of the Delta Beta Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Bowling Green, Ohio, was involved in an alleged incident of alcohol-related hazing at an off-campus event,” the international fraternity claimed.
“The Fraternity has a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal activity, substance abuse, bullying, and hazing of any kind. Let us reiterate in the strongest terms: We refuse to defend or condone any behavior that creates dangerous environments or situations for our members or the larger campus community at any of our 200+ chapters in the United States and abroad.”
Following the tragic incident, the Delta Beta Chapter has reportedly been placed on administrative suspension pending investigation.
Confirming the incident was also Bowling Green State University, whereas officials claimed Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity was placed on “interim suspension for alleged hazing activity.”
“We are working with local law enforcement, who are actively taking the lead in investigating this unfolding situation. This tragic incident has certainly impacted our students and community,” the statement read.
“BGSU is committed to not just the student conduct and law enforcement investigations, but a full inquiry into each Greek chapter’s prevention and compliance responsibilities under University policies prohibiting hazing.point 308 |

Following Stone’s hospitalization, one of the boy’s roommates, who chose to remain anonymous, said he overheard his friend saying: “We have to drink a handle of any alcohol that our big gives us. We have to finish the whole thing in the time we’re there before we leave.”
The student also told WTOL that he never saw his roommate drunker before. “He immediately went to the bathroom and was throwing up in the toilet for just 15 minutes to an hour and making himself vomit,” he said.
