A young student has fallen to her death while posing for a selfie at the edge of a high cliff she and her boyfriend visited.
According to the reports, 22-year-old Michelle Casey from Oregon was with her boyfriend at the Neahkahnie Mountain Viewpoint when the incident occurred.
As the deceased Oregon student’s boyfriend revealed, the pair were posing for photos on top of the cliff when his girlfriend decided to go closer to the edge for a better photo.
After falling some hundred feet down from the cliff, Michelle landed on a tree and managed to stay alive until the emergency services arrived. However, the 22-year-old died due to the severity of her injuries after she was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
As the rescuers stated, the student was “unconscious but breathing” when they found and airlifted her.
Following Michelle’s tragic death, the girl’s family spoke out and revealed that their beloved daughter, who was an organ donor, saved two lives even after her death.
“I just want people to basically know that she’s just the most loving person that I’ve probably ever known,” Michelle’s friend, Tyson Zagelow, added.
According to the heartbroken family, Michelle was a kind soul who enjoyed her time in the choir. She was a Clackamas High School graduate who had been working at Starbucks while studying kinesiology.
“We just said hi and talked a little bit. I didn’t hear from her from the weekend,” Tyson added, recalling the last moment he spent with Michelle.
“(She is) the type of person that you could be driving down the road and she’ll make you roll down the windows and you’ll be blaring a song, screaming it out loud.”
