A 16-year-old student, Nathaniel Berhow, took out the gun from his backpack and shot five students and two of them were killed.
The other three classmates were injured, and then Nathaniel tried to commit suicide.
He was immediately taken into custody and then rushed to the hospital, where he was given a grave condition for shooting five students at the school.
The authorities at the Saugus High School, which is in Santa Clarita, responded to the 911 calls when they heard the first gunshot.
The first firing happened at 7:30 am, and all the six students were standing in the quad area of the school.
The CCTV camera showed how the students pulled out a pistol and shot five of his classmates and then shot himself in the head with the last bullet left in the gun.
Two students who were aged 14 years and 16 years have died, and the other two girls who were 14 years old and 15 years old were injured while the other 14-year-old student was treated and then released from the hospital.
Nathaniel’s mother is just clueless about what to say about the whole incident, and she said that she doesn’t have any idea, and she is only praying for the survival of her son.
A former friend of Nathaniel thinks that the death of his father could be a reason why this shooting rampage was triggered.
The school was locked down so that the police can investigate and go through the footage again. Ryan, a former friend, said that Nathaniel started disconnecting with us, and this violence might have triggered due to his father’s death.
He also said that his father was a nice man who was always there to help other people. The neighbors said that even though the father had a passion for the gun, they have no idea how the kid got access to it.
