Killing is a crime no matter who you are killing.
Killing humans is a punishable crime and so is killing certain animals.
As for the same, the police are in search of the driver who killed about 20 kangaroos and their joeys in just one night and the rescue staff says that he must have injured a few more severely.
The Sunday morning came as a mishappening to the residents of Tura Beach as they woke up to two residential roads filled with dead kangaroos and joeys.
Police say that they believe that a man intentionally ran his car over the poor animals in an attempt to kill as many as it can. They also say that the entire incident must have taken place between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
A resident, who had volunteered for the Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service, Janine Green, says that the incident was horrific. She is taking care of a joey right now that survived the incident but is injured and needs care.
She said that the team is working and asking the residents if they have seen any other injured animals in the bushes or in the vacant blocks as they may have missed them out.
Another resident of the locality said the incident was absurd. He said “When I woke up and saw what had happened, I was devastated.
The poor kangaroos had nothing to do with the driver for sure and who in his sane mind would do such a thing for fun because it was clearly an act done in order to have fun. It was insane and entirely stupid.”
The rescue team is working but if anyone around the locality finds any animal that needs help, you can take it to the police station or call the police.
