A Subway worker has been caught on camera scratching his a** behind the counter while serving sandwiches.
A customer caught a Subway worker with his pants down and scratching his a** behind the counter while serving sandwiches at a branch of the Subway in Accrington, Lancashire, England.
The customer shared the picture on Facebook and said that he’s glad he doesn’t eat at Subway.
The customer wrote: “Glad I don’t eat at Accy Subway. Worker stood scratching his a*s!”
The customer later told Lancashire Telegraph that this is disgusting and he would never go to Subway again.
He said: “I said to my partner, ‘have you seen that? You have just eaten and he is doing that.’ It is just wrong on so many levels”.
The post instantly went viral online, leaving people shocked and disgusted.
Internet users called the Subway worker ‘disgusting’.
While some users found the incident funny and started making jokes as one user wrote: “Mmmm, extra sauce on that”.
Another user Eileen Coster said: “Needs something to add the flavour” while Martin Humphreys commented: “Subway is sh*t anyway, pardon the pun”.
Later, it turned out that the Subway worker, who was caught scratching his a** behind the counter while serving sandwiches, has been awarded five stars for hygiene in 2018.
After the incident, a spokesperson from Subway told Sun Online that they expect all franchise owners and their staff to practice good and strict hygiene.
The spokesperson said: “Thank you for contacting us.
We have high expectations of all franchise owners and their staff and require all stores to operate to strict hygiene standards.”
“We have contacted the relevant franchise owner who is addressing this further with his staff”.
