Whether we like it or not, life is primarily about selling.
Even if you’re the most introverted person on the planet and are in a non-sales job such as a computer programmer, you still have to “sell” yourself to a potential employer who will give you a job. And eventually, you need to “sell” yourself to your boss if you’re looking for a promotion.
That’s why there are terms like “selling oneself short” if one is too deprecating of one’s skills and achievements. And then there are people on the other end of the spectrum who oversell themselves and come out as bombastic or arrogant. Either that or they convince people that they’re qualified for something that they’re not capable of and then all hell breaks loose afterward.
As one would expect, the same thing goes for the dating game. We can talk all about how people should “accept me for being me” but if you have a profile on a dating app, the fact of the matter is that you need to stand out enough for people to at least check you out.
But let’s face it, it’s hard to come up with a profile and punchline that catches attention without being overbearing or boastful. But when you do manage to hit that sweet spot, then you practically can’t help but swipe right in the hopes of getting to know more about the person behind such a witty profile!
Below are 10 examples of people who took their dating profiles to the next level and managed to capture attention so much that they got featured at all. Of course, if they’re still on a dating app then either they didn’t live up to the promise or they really couldn’t find someone who fits their personality.
That just leads us to another topic. Meaning, while these excellent profiles may certainly open the door to dating opportunities, one’s true personality will still come to the fore and determine if a meeting will head towards a relationship or a “better luck next time” encounter.
