A man dressed as Superman raided an alligator’s nest to help the staff at Colorado Gator Farm to collect its eggs.
In the video that has now gone viral, Jay Young can be seen jumping over an alligator wearing a Superman outfit so the staff at Colorado Gator Farm could collect its eggs.
During Gator Fest, Jay even posed for photos while sitting on Lori’s back.
Jay said: “It was hot but fun. This is just daily work for us, taking care of the alligators when the need arises. I just happened to be dressed as Superman when this particular need arose.”
“What I enjoy most about working with alligators is that they are predictable – you know they are going to try to kill you. I know their limitations and I know my own, and usually stay between those boundaries.”
Lori was brought Colorado Gator Farm in 1987 to eat fish. The Colorado Gator Farm is now home to 20 crocodiles.
The head of social media at Colorado Gator Farm, Jason McDonald, says they take the gator’s eggs and give them to kids and schools for educational purposes.
McDonald said: “The next day when we walked by her pen she didn’t attack the fence or anything, so it really was for the best. We take the eggs and blow them out and give to kids and schools for educational purposes.”
“Many people learn better from hands on experience, and handing a kid an egg and letting them see something for themselves really can get through to them.”
When the video of Jay, dressed as Superman sitting on the alligator’s back to help the staff collect its eggs, was posted online, it instantly went viral.
People were left shocked but praised the daring man for helping the staff at Colorado Gator Farm.
