Supermom Sue Radford is celebrating the birth of Bonnie, her 21st baby! The 43-year-old welcomed her little angel into her king-sized clan after only 12 minutes of labor.
“I thought I’d need more than gas and air but there wasn’t any time,” she expressed.
Her other children were excited and thrilled when she brought 8lb 4oz baby Bonnie back to the family’s ten-bedroom converted care home.
“They were all fighting over the first cuddle. It’s such a lovely moment when you bring a newborn home and the others are all lined up ready to hold her,” Sue said.
Her baker husband, 47-year-old Noel, said: “I don’t think anyone sets out thinking they’ll have 21 children. We thought we’d have three.”
Sue said: “We’ve both decided we don’t want any more. Bonnie has completed our family.”
Noel added: “Some people decide to stop after two or three kids. We’ve made it after 21.”
The couple have said it before, such as after 14-month-old Archie. Noel even decided to have a vasectomy after their 9th baby then decided to have it reversed.
But the supermum, who spent a total of 811 weeks pregnant, said: “It has to come to an end at some point.
“The maternity clothes will be going in the bin shortly. I won’t miss being pregnant at all.
“All the midwives at the hospital were asking if they would see us again next year and we both said, ‘definitely not’. We’re just going to keep enjoying the children and enjoy our grandchildren.”
The amazing couple, who support themselves with their bakery, had their first child when Sue was only 14 years old.
Christopher is now almost 30. Four-day-old Bonnie is an aunt to his 16-month-old daughter Masie. She also has a nephew and two other nieces as the eldest daughter, Sophie, has three kids.
“It’s such a lovely moment when you bring a newborn home and the others are all lined up on the sofa ready to hold her,” Sue said. “It’s so wonderful to see how much they absolutely adore her already. It’s just a really special time.”
The couple’s eldest two children no longer live at their home – leaving Chloe, 23, Jack, 21, Daniel, 19, Luke, 18, Millie, 17, Katie, 15, James, 14, Ellie, 13, Aimee, 12, Josh, 11, Max, 9, Tillie, 8, Oscar, 7, Casper, 6, Hallie, 3, Phoebe, 2, 14-month-old Archie, and days-old Bonnie.
