Mistakes are made and we understand that we all are humans after all.
But there are some professions that give you no scope of making mistakes.
One such profession is of a doctor’s. Doctors are treated like God in the physical world. They are the only ones who can save a life after God.
Although we cannot materialistically approach god, we can definitely do it with a doctor. When we go to a doctor, we trust him or her and handover our lives in their hands.
Well now it looks like, not all doctors are equally concerned for the life of their patient, or at least they are not well concentrated on their job and commit a mistake.
A patient who went in for a surgery to make an inspection on his bladder did not end up getting the same. The surgeon who was treating him must have had different plans in his mind and because of the same, he ended up circumcising him by mistake.
The patient whose name has not been revealed was admitted to University Hospital of Leicester NHS Trust last year where the ‘never event’ happened.
Now you must be wondering what is a never event. Well, never event is an event that in any case or even by mistake should never happen. This includes treating the wrong patient or the wrong body part that happened to this patient.
The patient who was circumcised mistakenly came in to get a bladder check surgery but somehow his paperwork got mixed with another patient’s who was supposed to have the surgery.
The surgeon then took the wrong file and performed the surgery without realizing what a huge mistake he was making.
The trust denied answering any questions regarding the case saying that the man is an adult and all the other questions are thus irrelevant.
The reports say that the man who was treated in September had the same name of this patient and that is how the papers of their files got mixed.
