All parents believe that their child is special.
There is no doubt that all children are parents’ and guardians’ treasures. The same thing goes for 29-year-old Chrissy Corbitt, who knows exactly what it’s like to be a mother.
Chrissy’s first two kids weighed 9 lbs and 10 lbs respectively. So, she wouldn’t be surprised if her next children would also be that heavy. However, nothing could’ve made her prepared for her fourth pregnancy, which would be the last.
The mother of four believed she had done and seen it all when it comes to pregnancy, so she wasn’t nervous when she found out that she was expecting another child. During the first trimester, Chrissy already suspected that her baby was going to be a big one. But she didn’t anticipate how big her baby would be.
“The belly was getting bigger and bigger. It was like she had a huge beach ball and it was getting more and more inflated,” Larry, baby’s dad, shared.
Chrissy’s three children have grown heavier than average, but no one came close to their new sibling, Carleigh.
On May 13, 2017, Chrissy gave birth to her big, bouncing, baby girl Carleigh. She weighed 13 lbs, 5 ounces, enough to surprise Chrissy and the doctors.
“When the pediatrician showed her to me across the curtain, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s huge,” Chrissy said.
Of course, Chrissy was not the only one waiting for the arrival of this wonderful angel. All people in the room were waiting patiently to see the size of her new child. As soon as Carleigh got a glimpse of light for the first time, people in the room celebrated in delight.
“I heard everybody cheering in the operating room. I’ve never had that happen before,” Chrissy expressed.
There is no doubt that this was another beginning of a huge story for Larry and Chrissy. The newest member of the family was so big that she couldn’t wear clothes her parents bought for her. Carleigh also couldn’t fit in her diapers, so her parents had to buy a new set of baby items for her.
“All the stuff we bought leading up to her being born, we just donated to a local church,” Larry shared. Even though the situation can be stressful for them, Larry and Chrissy used the opportunity to help others in need.
Sweet Smiles Photography StudioCarleigh continues to grow bigger than other babies her age. At only three weeks old, she’s already wearing clothes designed for 9-month-old. It seemed like she is going to be a tall person. However, Carleigh is not the heaviest baby in the world.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the heaviest baby ever was born in 1879, weighing 22 lbs.
In addition to Carleigh’s special birth weight, she is also healthy and filled with energy. “She’s just a happy baby, she smiles all the time,” Chrissy expressed. “I can’t get enough of her.”
