In a local deli store, a surveillance video captures a woman walking in while opening fire at the employee who was behind the counter.
During the early hours of a Thursday morning, Sammy’s Deli and Grill employee, unidentified, had been shot at but thankfully was able to escape the injury. As seen in the footage, the employee is shaken up but tries to avoid the fire as best as they can.
The suspect, also unidentified, is shown to have walked in with no fear, strutting in calmly with a firearm in her hand. She is dressed up in a hoodie, sweatpants, and black mask to cover her face.
While walking into the bodega, the suspect starts to fire several shots at the man who is behind the counter. Soon afterwards, she takes initiative to open the door that barricades the customer and employee, then walks out of the store without any injuries.
The man behind the counter ducks under the cash register, also avoiding any fatal casualties. Based on police reports, the suspect had left the scene in a grey sedan.
The man who was working says that he could not identify her, since he had no idea on who she was and also was not threatening to the employee until she pulled out her gun.
The woman did not peep a word with the man, she also did not steal anything from the store. Her actions involved firing at the employee and then leaving briskly.
NYPD is asking those who might know her identity to be able to disclose it with them, offering a reward of $2,500 to arrest her. There has been an influx of gun violence throughout New York and the United States, crimes increasing in numbers ever since last summer hit.
Dermot Shea, NYPD Commissioner, tells reporters that their city is “emerging from one of its most challenging period,”
“Not only are they going in harm’s way to drive down violence like never before, they are also connecting with the communities they serve in innovative, impactful ways,”
