The 31-year-old has created Nike trainers, Hawaiian Shirts, Flamingos, and celebrities like Dwayne Johnson and Aquaman.
Yujia uses salmon, seaweed, and rice to create edible works of art that take between 15 minutes to two hours.
The Milan-based chef and artist said: “At first I was thinking of a way to promote my restaurant.
I started to create portraits of NBA players in sushi form. With practice my skills improved and I created more and more difficult things.
”“I relax a lot during the creation process because while I work my mind is free to travel, the thoughts fade without blocks and when I finish the satisfaction of what I have created comes.”
“When I finish a piece, I feel a lot of satisfaction because I managed to take something from my head and make it a real thing.”
His creations are super tasty but the chef says he regrets eating the work that he creates with so much hard work.
He said: “Once I create it and take a picture of a piece, unfortunately, I have to eat it or give it to family and friends.”
Yujia says the best thing that happened to him was to receive an email from the band Fall Out Boy.
Pete told him that he is a fan of his art and asked him to re-create their onigiri portraits.
