A suspect tried to avoid police interrogation by pretending to be unconscious for three days.
The man from Xiaogan Central China’s Hubei Province was arrested on July 7 on suspicion of fraud. But to evade investigation, he pretended to have suffered trauma and faked fainting in front of the officers.
Police then took him to a hospital where doctors tried their best to wake him up from his sleep. But despite doctors’ best efforts, nothing worked.
But that was until the suspect finally ‘woke up’ from his deep slumber after he smelled a delicious plate of his favorite beef curry and rice.
One of the officers had been eating a meal next to the suspect’s bed and the man just couldn’t take it anymore.
The police officer told The Global Times: “The rice’s smell was very strong and spread all over the room as I was eating it. Then he started moving his head and slowly got up.”
The suspect then admitted that he could not resist the smell.
“I haven’t eaten for three days. My empty stomach couldn’t bear it anymore when I smelled food around me,” he said.
Earlier this year, 18-year-old Blakelee Sands from Edmond, Oklahoma, was pulled up when she went to a bar and attempted to use her ID card, which read: ‘McKamie Queen.’
But the bartender immediately realized that the ID was fake and Ms. Sands wasn’t 21 yet, so her ID got confiscated.
The confident teen then called the cops and asked them to get her ID back.
When cops arrived at the scene, Ms. Sands insisted that her ID was legit. But when officers ran the card through the Texas license database, it revealed that McKamie Queen’s ID was linked to a Robert Sanchez.
The teen was later arrested on suspicion of presenting a fake ID with the purpose of misleading officers.
