Our planet is sick and it is calling out for help.
For millions and millions of years, Earth has been our home and we have been taking care of it.
But with the initiation of modernity everything turned upside down and then rather than taking care of the planet, we humans started to exploit it without realizing the consequences it can have and now we all know what our planet is facing.
Be it the ocean, the frozen lands, the forests or anywhere at all, we have ruined it all. Our oceans are filled with plastic scrap waste that is killing marine life.
Our forests are getting lost and the wildlife is already rare to be found. But now, humans have started taking the initiative to help our motherland. Governments from around the globe are getting indulged into the practice as well. NGOs and other groups are working on it too.
Many huge brands and companies have taken their part in the initiative too. And now a Philanthropist from Switzerland has announced his contribution to saving the world.
The man is a billionaire and he has taken a pledge to donate a massive amount of $1 billion for the conservation work over next 10 years.
Wyss foundation’s CEO, Hansjorg Wyss, made the announcement of his plan in the month of October last year. The foundation is going to work for the conservation for both land and oceans around the world.
They are also going to work on spreading awareness about the same. Along with that, the company is also looking forward to funding some scientific projects that are working on the same journey.
Wyss in an interview said that he believes that the world can be saved and if we work for it, 30% of the world can be saved within the next 10-11 years.
He said that the best way to protect the forests is by converting them into ‘public national parks’ and ‘marine reserves’ so that it can be in closer contacts of the humans and their understanding of what is to be done with them and what is not.
