Taco Bell is which is obviously famous for the Taco and chalupa is testing Crispy Tortilla Chicken which is available in chicken strip form or served inside a taco.
The strips have all-white meat chicken with a jalapeño buttermilk flavored marinade, covered in a crunchy tortilla chip coating. The food chain said in a statement that the chicken will also come with a creamy chile pepper sauce.
According to a Taco Bell press release, before landing on the perfect crispy chicken recipe their test kitchen created 100 iterations. The new Crispy Tortilla Chicken is only available at Houston and Dayton, Ohio, locations right now but it will be introduced nationwide in 2020.
The company will also sell just the Crispy Tortilla Chicken strip in two- and three-piece sets and $5 and $7 boxes. It will be available at $1.99 for a taco, $2.99 for a 2-piece, $3.99 for a 3-piece, and in $5 and $7 boxes.
This year, the food chain brought back its popular Nacho Fries, french fries with Mexican seasoning and a nacho cheese dipping sauce.
Taco Bell’s Baja Birthday Freeze, which is on the menu for a limited time only. The drink comes with small colored candies that mimic a confetti explosion, and it’s now available at participating locations nationwide. The price of regular size for $2.39, or a large for $2.59.
If you get free time between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. then you can get the regular-sized Birthday Freeze for only $1 during Taco Bell’s happy hour.
Earlier this year, Popeyes’ new crispy chicken sandwich went viral and became the latest entry into what is now apparently known as “the chicken sandwich wars.” There was a competition between Chik-fil-A and Popeyes over their chicken sandwiches, now Tacos has joined the list.
