A Taco Bell employee has gone viral after cannonballing into a full kitchen sink to celebrate his last day at the job.
20-year-old Steven Pauley from West Virginia racked up more than 17 million views on TikTok after sharing a video in which he is seen jumping into a sink filled with water and soap.
The bizarre stunt took place at the young man’s workplace after he decided to celebrate his last night shift at Taco Bell in an unusual way.
In the footage, Steven is seen cannonballing into the large sink before almost completely submerging under the water. Needless to say, he also created quite a mess in the kitchen in the process.
“A lot of people are giving me a bad rap for the video. But I like to have fun on my shifts. I’d put in my two weeks’ notice though and worked the remaining two weeks,” the 20-year-old, who allegedly worked at the Taco Bell restaurant for three years, said.
“On the last shift, we got everything done and cleaned the store as normal. We finished at 4am, and then we filled up the sink.
“That water is normally pretty hot, so we had to throw some ice in there. I’m not trying to jump in a burning bath and put my life on the line.”
As he added, the entire thing wasn’t premeditated, whereas he only got the ‘brilliant’ idea after arriving at his last night shift and figuring out he might as well do something fun before leaving for good.
“I hadn’t started the shift thinking I was going to jump in the sink that night, I just thought ‘Why not have some fun at the end?’ We cleaned up afterwards anyway,” Steven says.
“Luckily I had a spare change of clothes in my car. I got quite a few negative comments from people saying I was going to be fired. I’m usually the positive guy so I’m not used to that.”
