Humans have often been cruel to animals; every day, we come to hear news where humans have assaulted birds and animals in many ways.
Recently John Llewellyn, 65 years old, knocked off a seagull for snatching his chips. John was on a day trip to Weston-Super-Mare.
A seagull appeared from nowhere and tried to grab the chips in his hand. John got infuriated by a seagull and thrashed it several times till it reached the brink of death.
Many witnessed the horrifying event and were shaken by the incident. Jones first caught the bird by his legs and thrashed it onto the wall several times.
There were children present at the scene who started crying after watching Jones do this cruelty.
Thlesserer black-backed gull is one of the protected species in the UK, and it is certainly illegal to kill. Racheal Beer worked at a sweet shop nearby, witnessed the scene, and sent the photos to the RSPCA.
He gave her statement saying that she saw seagull taking chips from the plate, later he grabbed the bird by the feet and thrashed onto the wall. One of the mothers at the scene said why he has to do this in front of the kids.
Racheal rushed to the scene and took a photo of the seagull. She tried to help the seagull it wasn’t dead first, a passer-by took it to the vet.
When people asked why he has to do such cruelty, he simply shrugged his shoulders and went away.
Jones was charged with Wildlife Countryside Act 1981; he denied the charges but later was found guilty. He was sentenced for 12 weeks curfew and asked to pay $994 and $132 for victim surcharge.
RSPCA inspector added that this act was deliberate cruelty, and the many should not get away with his deeds. The poor bird was only taking a chip or two from his plate.
