Is the expression ‘ Customer Is Always Right ‘ correct?
But one has to accept the bitter reality, as 27% of retail workers say they’d tell customers to treat them with respect if they didn’t feel there would be negative effects.
A few days ago, in a rare event, a target employee was justified when an insecure customer tried to take up a case with Twitter.
He was verified as a journalist and was having difficulty in reading.
He viewed a placeholder price sticker on the plastic piece that was used to show the top-of-the-line of an electric toothbrush at the actual product price.
He took a photo of the unimpressed employee to Twitter and involved the police as well, twitter users took the side of the employee and even said that she deserves a vacation.
Users reported that the dissatisfied consumer wouldn’t have much legal ground to stand up to complaining about the electric toothbrush, which is usually sold around $90 and $150 but was sold for a single cent.
Some of the users guessed that it could be a clear misprint, other retail experience pointed out that the customer actually saw a sticker on the plastic display used to track store space which was displayed to keep the track of shelf space in store’s system.
The twitter community decided to plan a vacation for the poor employee who faced harassment.
They immediately launched a GoFundMe account and they were able to collect $30,000.
It was confirmed by the target employee as well as the one who started this GoFundMe campaign that the account was transferred.
However, a Twitter user commented that it was pleasing to see a lot of people with different political thoughts and ideas showing support for the worker.
The fundraising was started by a conservative meme page which is even more surprising.
It could pose a challenge for Tori, who is deciding where to donate the money instead of putting it all away for herself.
