As a kid, I loved watching Cartoon Network all day long only to see how Tom and Jerry hustle all day long to trouble each other and in the end, they would resolve everything to become best friends only to become enemies again.
Yes, we loved that show but no I am not blinded by it.
There are other Toms and Jerrys in the world and although it took every single child who is and was a fan of the show a very long time to realize that there can be other creatures with the same name, some are still living in the same illusion.
An English teacher came to twitter all confused as one of his students who was supposed to write an essay on The Great Gatsby’s character Tom Buchanan from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s.
But the student somehow lost track and rather than writing about the character from the novel that came out in 1925, he wrote about Tom from Tom and Jerry.
Alexis, the English teacher was left baffled as he shared the essay of the student. He wrote “The first semester of this year has been a great won.
I feel appreciated and rewarded but I am left stunned with what this one student wrote in his essay. How can one supposedly mix up a character from a classic novel with a cartoon show character which is a cat.”
“I have no idea what to do with this student.”
Well, the student was awarded a D grade and to be speaking about it, I think that is well too.
Instead of giving out a character analysis of Tom Buchanan the student thoroughly analyzed Tom the cat’s character and it is interesting how deep it goes. It is fun.
