There is no doubt that being a teacher is not an easy job.
Commanding a large group of mischievous kids isn’t easy. The teenagers make consistent efforts that test your patience. A teacher from Richmond, Utah is ready to give up after unsuccessfully battling the students on a regular basis. Her students were disrespectful which caused her to leave her job.
Julie Marburger shared a series of pictures on Facebook which showed the state of disorder. Her students leave her class regularly without asking and bring a shame to their parents who allow such activities. The post has gone viral and has been shared by over four hundred thousand people. It just shows how disrespectful the new generation of students has become.
She mentions in her post that she left early one day due to a high level of stress caused by the kids. But it was an incident that she had with a parent that forced her even further. Not just the students, even parents have forgotten to show respect. And the students inherit such qualities from their parents.
The administration always wants to keep the parents happy and wouldn’t go against them. She shared pictures which she had taken in her classroom after students spending their entire day there.
The picture below shows Julie’s nightmare classroom. It seems like the students in the class have no respect for the institution that was designed to impart knowledge to them. No classroom in the world should be treated this way. The bookshelf has been decimated, and the books are left in a state of ruin.
Another picture shows that students eat gum in the classroom and stick it to a window rather than disposing of it outside. Books are thrown below the desk which allows them to be folded and bent.
Students have been careless enough to leave an iPad and headphones in a corner of the room where it could easily be broken. It might have been stolen as well. The students make it seem like the school is over-funded.
She posted a long tirade against the present condition of her classroom and what she felt about her students.
Moreover, she shared that she would have to fail the students by the end of the year.Although she knows that this move would outrage the parents and the principal wouldn’t be standing in her corner.
Julie also said that she would leave the profession of teaching by the end of the year. But with her current batch of students, she doesn’t know if she could make it until the end of the year.Follow her Facebook post below.
The United States spends more on education than any other country but still, it lacks behind them in math, reading, and science. The spending isn’t translating into better performance.
