A teenage boy reportedly showed up to class in his sister’s skirt after he was sent home by the school’s officials for wearing shorts in Scotland.
Local media reports confirmed how the student behaved in the manner because he failed to understand the school’s behavior and their new dress code rules. Keeping in mind how it was the hottest day of the year, the student explained how he chose to wear shorts to beat the heat as it was just not appropriate to don trousers in this weather.
But the student was called out and sent home for flouting the school’s rules. For this reason, Shane Richardson and his group of friends opted to declare their message to the authorities loud and clear as they showed up the next day in their sister’s attire which included a skirt.
The incident took place at Scotland’s Moffat Academy which is located in Dumfries and Galloway.point 203 |
Moreover, the school emphasized how their dress code includes two options only, skirts for girls and trousers for boys.point 101 | Hence, watching Shane and his friends show up in skirts was definitely something not too many people were expecting at all.point 204 | 1
“It’s just too hot to be wearing trousers, plus they all switch off the air conditioning in the classrooms too,” he added. This had to do with the fact that the pandemic was still going on and hence precautions included turning AC’s off.
“Just like a few others, I was also sent home for donning shorts and that’s why I decided to begin the day by wearing my sister Lexi’s skirt,” the teen student boldly stated.
Surprisingly, Shane confessed how the teachers failed to say anything to him about wearing a skirt. In the same way, he emphasized how the taxi driver that picks him up every morning also failed to mention a word.
Shane’s mother is also hitting out at the educational institution for barring boys from wearing shorts in such boiling temperatures, calling it a ridiculous move on the part of the school’s management.
