A teen with Down syndrome made a friend’s wedding extra special after he challenged the groom to an epic dance battle.
Matthew Ferrel, the father of 15-year-old Sam, said that his son adores the bride, Tori Bowyer. Sam was asked to be a part of the big day, which took place at Ethereal Gardens in California.
The father said to DailyMail that Sam served as a ‘de facto groomsman’ at the wedding.
In the video, Sam can be seen challenging the groom, Nick Serrato, to an epic dance battle while ‘Bust A Move’ plays in the background.
Sam dropped his hands to the floor and kicked his legs in the air then he spun while balancing on his hip.
Wedding guests are cheering him on, and even Nick clapped his hands for his competitor as he stroke another pose on the floor.
When it was Nick’s turn, he also showed off his fancy footwork and Sam quickly replicated to the delight of the guests.
“Sam didn’t beat Nick to win Tori’s heart but he did declare himself the dance battle winner,” his father wrote on Facebook.
Matthew also said that Tori, the bride, is like a part of the family. She had been Sam’s babysitter for a few years and now works with children with autism.
“When she got engaged she asked Sam to be a part of the wedding,” he said. “Sam for a long time thought he was the one who was marrying Tori.”
Sam earned himself a lot of fans at the wedding, including Tori’s mother, who also shared the video on Facebook.
