18 Stone Teen – Who Was Bullied And Struggled With Weight For Years – Now Weighs 10 Stone, Thanks To The Slimming World Diet


An 18-year-old, who was more than 18 stone, has now lost almost half of her body weight and now weighs 10 stone.

Holly Bolton, from Brentwood, was bullied for her weight since she was 12. She was referred to a dietitian after she struggled with her weight and had numerous hospital appointments which she described as traumatic.

She said: “It wasn’t a nice experience at all – I had hospital appointments which I found really traumatic.”

“At 12 I was told I wouldn’t be able to lose the weight without surgery, which is quite a lot to process at such a young age.”

But, she did nothing to lose weight, instead, she started eating more for comfort and gained even more weight.

She was bullied at school for her weight and was unable to cope with it. After struggling with her weight for years, she finally decided to make changes in her lifestyle to lose weight.

Holly, who was never active and didn’t do any physical activity because of her weight, started exercising and strictly followed the Slimming World diet.

She said: “I never used to do any physical activity because I was so unfit that I’d get out of breath after just a few minutes.”

She never had the confidence of going to the gym when she was 18 stone so it was a big thing when she finally decided to join a gym.

Holly has now lost almost half of her body weight and now weighs 10 stone. She became the Slimming World’s Young Slimmer of the Year 2020 after losing weight.

She now loves challenging herself and feels great about her body.

Amid coronavirus crisis, Holly is attending her weekly group online. She says it keeps her motivated and focused and she loves seeing her consultant and fellow members at her virtual group.

Holly said: “With so much going on in the world it’s easy to lose sight of your goals or to have your routine disrupted, and being in the group helps you focus on what you want to achieve.”
