A young mom reveals how people judge her for being a young mom and ask her how she manages to provide for her son.
Gabby, now 21, has a seven-year-old son and shares what it was like to fall pregnant at 13 years old. She also reveals that she was often asked a few rude questions
In a clip shared in her TikTok account named @bbyegan, she reveals “the questions I’ve recently been asked about having a kid when I was 13” before revealing her answers.
She captioned it with: “Well there ya go” and flashed a text on the screen that says “13 and pregnant questionnaire”.
One person asks “how did you get pregnant so young?” to which she mockingly replied: “I ate a bad apple and swallowed the seeds and ever since then my life’s been [redacted] up.”
The second question was “do you have custody of the kid you had when you were 13?” to which she answers “I have full custody of the kid that I had when I was 13, yes”.
The third question was “did giving birth at 13 hurt?” to which she jokingly answered, “I think giving birth at any age kinda sucks,” adding that she had a c-section when she gave birth and claimed that it wasn’t that bad.
The fourth question asks if the kid’s dad was still in the picture and the teen mom says the dad was involved through the phone screen and he visits once a year because he lives half a country away in Texas.
While the fifth question asks if she had a childhood, she laughs hard and said “no”.
Someone also said that they think the child support was good but she reveals that she doesn’t receive any child support and exposes that her kid’s dad helps her for a little bit but it was never legally mandated.
But being a young mom didn’t stop Gabby from going to school as someone asked how did she graduate high school and she says “I just kept going to [redacted] school and got a job to pay for daycare while I was in [redacted] school.”
Gabby ended the clip smiling while proudly saying “don’t be a teen mom!”
She had actually been secretly dating a 17-year-old guy for months, who she saw on the weekend while pretending to be hanging out with her friends. But when she realized she was pregnant, she knew she couldn’t keep it from her parents any longer.
In another video shared on TikTok, Gabby explained that she told her mom first, who initially didn’t believe her daughter could be pregnant until the doctor confirmed it.
Two months after her 13th birthday, Gabby says she sat her dad down for a talk and the first question Gabby’s dad asked was “did you get caught with dr*gs?”
Through her tears, the distraught teen had to explain to her father that she hadn’t been caught with any illegal substances but she was pregnant.
“We all had a moment of silence, I was crying – then my dad said, don’t tell anyone that you’re pregnant,” Gabby said.
She later explained that her parents pulled her out of school and she was homeschooled instead which allowed her to look after her son while working and studying.
Gabby managed to get through that tough time and gave birth to her perfectly healthy son, Jaylen, in 2014.
In another video, the now 21-year-old mom can be seen with her 7-year-old son and ask him some things people often say and his responses are hilarious.
Her mom asks if he thinks it’s weird that his mom was 21 and the kid said no. “Do you think I’m old?” she asked, to which he responded “yes.”
She reveals that people often mistake them for siblings but the pair think it’s funny and go along with it.
Meanwhile, Gabby explained in a separate video that it is often “weird” for her to parent her nine-year-old stepson as they are only 11 years apart in age.
“My stepson and I are 11 years apart – is it weird?” Gabby said. “Yeah… when he is 18, I’m only going to be 29.”
“He and I don’t really have a parent relationship – we do have the basic foundations of respect, he knows I’m the adult and he is going to respect me,” she added. “But it’s more like a best friend relationship, we get on really well. I’m just his cool young stepmom. I leave the parenting up to his parents… as I should.”
