School is our world, where a child or a teenager is always protected by their teachers but that does not stay the same with the colleges.
Every teenager has to dig their own path to college and believe me, it is not an easy one. Every college you would want to apply to would ask for extremely high grades and amazing performance in co-curricular activities.
When I say stress in a teenager’s life, we all will relate to it that the first thing that gets affected by stress is their grades. Stress comes from all the kinds of problems like sibling disputes, fighting parents, lack of bond with parents, any kind of accidents in the family or whatever you could imagine off.
But this young man, who has constantly been in a cycle of homelessness and living in a home, did not let any such thing affect his determination.
Dylan Chidick is a 17 years old boy from New Jersey and his life has not been a piece of cake. He has constantly been in the struggle but the boy did not let go off his determination.
He had decided to be capable enough to get into a college and he was not selected just in one but in 17 colleges.
Dylan said “My family has been my strength. As long as my family is together, I will be able to overcome all the obstacle in my life. I am so happy today, I will be the first person to attend college from my family.”
Dylan has some great colleges like Albright College, Caldwell University, and Ramapo College on his list and now it is going to be a tough decision for him to make. But he is still looking forward to hearing back from his top choice, College of New Jersey.
Applying to colleges is not cheap just like paying their fees isn’t, but he somehow managed the money and had sent in applications for 20 different colleges.
Dylan said it was hard but his mother kept inspiring him at every step and that is how he has been able to be accepted in so many colleges.
