A group of nearly two dozen teenagers was caught on camera attacking and robbing a 15-year-old girl on the streets of Brooklyn, New York, during the day.
The incident occurred near Utica Avenue at around 4 pm on March 5, whereas the security cameras captured some twenty teens running after a girl before knocking her down and stealing her belongings.
While it is not clear what caused the disturbing escalations, NYPD’s Crime Stoppers have shared the disturbing footage and pictures on the internet and asked people to help them track down the attackers.
“This is sickening video of a 15 year old girl viciously attacked by a group of school children. One young man takes the sneakers right off the unconscious victim’s feet,” NYPD Brooklyn North’s Assistant Chief Jeffrey Maddrey wrote on Twitter.
“The teenager is in the hospital recovering. We CAN NOT allow this behavior in our community.”
In the disturbing video, almost twenty teens are seen punching and kicked the girl as she was lying on the sidewalk.
During the attack, the perpetrators allegedly stole the 15-year-old’s debit card and phone. As seen in the photos, one teen also took the girl’s sneakers.
After the incident, the victim was rushed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County where she is being treated and recovering from head trauma.
Following the attack, the police have urged everyone with information relevant to the case to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
