The father of a teenager was shell shocked to know about his son’s vaping habit after he was hospitalized with the blockage of lungs.
The father is unsure about whether the boy would survive or not. The teen from Texas named Tryston Zohfeld is fighting with death when suddenly his healthy lungs stopped to function as usual.
This incident was reported on July 26. The boy got up in the morning puking on the bed and the heart beat of the boy was beating out of the chest for 100 miles an hour.
By observing his worst situation, the boy’s parents rushed him to the Cook Children’s Hospital that is in Fort Worth.
The doctors put him in the ICU where he was slipped into medically induced coma and the condition of the boy is getting deteriorated. He was hooked to the oscillatory ventilator and was kept alive for around 10 days.
Matt Zohfeld who is the father of the boy stated that it was the worst day in their lives. The father is not aware of the son’s condition and has walked into the hospital without any knowledge of the boy’s health condition.
The boy’s father is not sure whether the boy would fight with the death and would get back to normal life.
The doctors run the X-rays and found the blockage of lungs completely. There are many tests that are run by the doctors on the patient for various diseases such as pneumonia, but every test found to be negative.
The doctors started to eliminate every other health ailment after running the tests and were in a dilemma to find out what exactly was the problem with the boy’s health. The family member of Tryston disclosed that the boy has vaping habit since his 8th grade.
The parents are not aware of his habit, which the doctors got to know to do the possible diagnosis. The father started to recall everything and connect the dots with what the family member was saying.
Tryston was inhaling vaping pen which damaged the lungs to an extent that the lungs are not able to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. This habit has done irreparable damage to his lungs.
However, Tryston was discharged from the hospital after 18 days. Immediately after he came out, he disposed vaping pen and e-cigarettes. He is soon to undergo a rehabilitation program.
